Last Saturday, the Wesleyan Softball team gathered together in Byron, GA. to help an elderly couple in need. Under the provision of Head Coach Penny Siqueiros, the team spent the hot day cleaning up yard debris and handling basic yard maintenance for the couple. The team spent approximately 5 hours giving back in the heat that included heat indexes of 108 degrees.
"It's important for us to give back when we can. We play a collegiate sport and that is something not everyone has a chance to do. We feel that we should give back when possible because our circumstances have given us so much," Coach Siqueiros said about the day.
The Wolves will begin their Fall season this month and plan many more community service events throughout the year.
