Nine Student-Athletes Recognized During Honors Day

Wesleyan College held its annual Honors Day on April 22, 2020. This event honors faculty, staff, and students for their work in the classroom as well as on campus. Usually held in the historic Porter Auditorium on Wesleyan's Forsyth Road campus, this year's event was held with over 200 members of Wesleyan's family streaming the event from their devices all over the country.

This year, nine student-athletes were honored in ten different categories. Senior Katie Ann Fitts (soccer) was honored as Student of the Year. The Student of the Year award is given each year to a senior and is the highest student nominated honor. The Student of the Year is awarded based on three principal traits: leadership, dedication to the Wesleyan Community, and friendship to others.

"We are very proud of the student-athletes who were honored during this year's Honors Day. This just speaks volumes for what we are doing here at Wesleyan College and through athletics. We are building athletes on the field and true leaders off the field." Athletics Director Penny Siqueiros said of the honors received by these athletes.
