Greenwood, SC - The Wesleyan College IHSA Western Team competed at Lander University on Sunday, September 25, and every rider walked away from the competition with at least one ribbon.

Freshman Meagan Gianetti finished second in the Intermediate 2 division during the day's morning show, while senior Maria Rodriguez took home a second as well as a third place finish in the same division over the course of both shows during the day. Sophomore Maria Randall made her IHSA debut with a sixth place finish in the walk/jog division, and junior Beth Randolph competed in her first Intermediate 1 competition, finishing with both a fourth and fifth place finish over the course of the day.

Caroline Thompson and Ashaunti Samms earned third, fourth and sixth place finishes in their respective divisions, pushing both seniors to the brink of Regional competition qualification.

"I am so proud of our western team for the poise that they showed at this competition,"" remarked Wesleyan head coach Jessica Denniston. ""We had quite a few tough draws, but the ladies rode each one to the best of their ability and never quit. The enthusiasm of our new riders along with the leadership of our returners has made for a great team dynamic, and I am excited to see where this team goes next."

Wesleyan's hunt seat team will open their Fall Show Season at Georgia Southern this weekend on Saturday October 1.
