Wesleyan College Athletics is pleased to announce the hiring of Catherine Baker as the next Head Equestrian Coach. Coach Baker brings to Wesleyan over 20+ years of professional & equestrian experience, taking over the Nancy Ellis Knox Equestrian Center.
 
"I am thrilled to join the Wesleyan College family. The position of Head Equestrian Coach, Nancy Ellis Knox Equestrian Center Coordinator and Adjunct Faculty is the perfect mesh of of my two passions as an educator and an equestrian. My goal is for every student to learn from the horses and take these skills into every aspect of their life. The Nancy Ellis Knox Equestrian Center is a wonderful facility on a beautiful campus. There is so much potential for the program to provide amazing opportunities to the students and the community. I am blessed to have been selected by Wesleyan College."
 
In accepting the position, Baker additionally commented, "There are two signs on my desk: "Follow Your Dreams" and "Inspire". I hope that everyone involved with Wesleyan College Equestrian Center embraces these ideas. Horses are very special creatures that teach us responsibility, courage, empathy, and humbleness."
 
Baker holds a Masters in Educational Administration from Texas A&M-Texarkana & Masters in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Baker previously studied Biology in her undergraduate at St. Edwards University. Away from equestrian, Baker has additionally worked in human resources and in education as a high school Biology teacher.
