Wolves Drop Doubleheader to Pfeiffer

MACON, GA - The Wolves played a doubleheader this afternoon against USA South Conference powerhouse, Pfeiffer University. Today's matchup would include arguably two of the hottest softball programs in the conference right now. In game one, pitcher Mackenzie Hooker came in relief for Kimmy Dick after the Falcons of Pfeiffer took an early lead in the second inning. The Wolves would peck away at the lead coming within two runs after the fifth inning with a score of 6-4. The Falcons would break out the offense during the seventh, adding four to their board with a final score of 10-4 for the win. Sophomore Kiara Binns lead the offense going 2-4 in game one.

During game two, the Falcons would take a very early lead off of pitcher Kara Kight who is just coming off of the disabled list, scoring eight in the first two innings. While the Wolves rallied at times during game two, they just could not string together the offense to come back. Offensively, Marilynn NeSmith went 1-2; Emma McDonald, Sydney McDonald, and Savanna Pollock each went 1-3 on the game.

The Wolves are scheduled to be back in action this Tuesday at home against Fort Valley State University.
