Anderson Added to Wesleyan Softball Staff as Recruiting Coordinator

Wesleyan College softball head coach and athletic director Penny Siqueiros announced last week the addition of Gary Anderson to her staff as Recruiting Coordinator.

"It is with tremendous delight that Coach Gary Anderson is excited to rejoin forces together on the recruiting trails on behalf of Wesleyan Softball," Siqueiros said. "Gary is first class in all aspects of his person. His reputation is impeccable and his eye for top talent is keen. He understands the talent base necessary to be both successful in the classroom and on the field. Above all, he recruits extraordinary people that are open to learning, growth, and elevation in their person. I've known Gary for roughly 20 years, and he is an incredible soul and wildly respected."

Gary Anderson brings over twenty years of collegiate recruiting experience to Wesleyan.

Anderson joins the Wolves after serving as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Emory University in Atlanta, Ga for over 14 seasons. While helping guide the Eagles to three appearances in the NCAA College World Series Tournament, Coach Anderson and the Emory staff were recognized as the NFCA Atlantic Region Coaching Staff of the Year three times and Conference Coaching Staff of the Year.

Before joining the Emory University coaching staff, Anderson was the head softball coach at Agnes Scott College from 2000-2002 where he was responsible for all administrative, recruiting, and coaching duties associated with the softball program. He also served as head coach at Spelman College in Atlanta for a season.

Anderson attended the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff on a football scholarship and received his bachelor's degree from Columbus College in 1979. Coach Anderson performed graduate studies at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville.
