Wolves Downed at Brevard, 72-47

Brevard, NC - Brevard capitalized on their home court today as they defeated the Wolves in 72-47 win. The Wolves were limited to shooting 23 percent of field goals atop only being able to produce 14 points in the paint compared to the 34 Brevard put up and scoring 22 points from turnovers produced by Wesleyan.

Only being down five points by end of the first quarter and keeping a steady pace during the second, Wesleyan recorded 50 percent of free throw attempts. With the constant battle to contend with the Tornadoes, a 25 point lead in the fourth quarter made that challenge unreachable.

 

Notables:

  • Starters Destiny Williams and Annalee Bollinger both contributed 16 points each along with a combination of 12 rebounds. Joint Williams and Bollinger, senior guard Kelsie Rhyne added 12 points and 6 rebounds
  • Wolves leading scorers: TK Blount with 16 points, four rebounds and 6 steals; Taylor Thigpen with 14 points, four assist and two rebounds; Taylor Hauser with 8 points; Alexis Russel with 5 points and 13 rebounds; Sherricka Sims with four points 
  • 73 percent of free throws made by the Wolves atop Brevard's percentage. 
  • Team total of 41 rebounds 

Wolves are currently 3-8 overall and 0-4 in conference.
