In the absence of their most experienced player, TK Blount, Wesleyan lost their opening match up in the Jean Beamer Tip Off Classic. Diedre Maxwell led the Wolves with 10 points while Carington Lowe added 7 total rebounds.
After the game, Head Coach Kyle Herring had this to say, "I am proud of the way we played tonight. The scoreboard is doesnt reflect the improvements we have made. It is hard playing with a total of 6 players. We were just really tired. We really did miss TK tonight. The whole team sends our thoughts and prayers to TK and her family. Her grandfather passed away this week and she was at his funeral and did not make the trip. I feel for TK. Her grandfather had a big hand in raising her. Tonight was a learning process. We played 5 freshmen. They are getting better. They will continue to get better."
The team will look to regroup for a 1:00 PM with Louisiana College on Sunday.
