In the second game of the Jean Beamer Tip Off Classic the Wolves were yet again without veteran, TK Blount, who was attending services for her late grandfather. The team struggled to hit their stride offensively and defensively, but Coach Kyle Herring sees progess and growth in the wake of two convincing losses.
Said Herring, "We did a good job of competing in the first half. They outrebounded us by 5 in the first half, which was so much better than yesterday. Brought our turnovers down to 15 in the first half. Those numbers have to continue to get better but it is still an improvement from yesterday. We are a very young team (5 freshmen) and will get better. I hope they (as well as everyone) has a great Thanksgiving. We will get back to work on Saturday."
The basketball team will face the Mississippi University for Women on the road this Sunday. Game start time is 3:00 PM.
