Ra-Hashim Dazzles In Wolves Defeat

MACON,GA- The Wesleyan Wolves hosted the Lagrange College Panthers at historic Porter Gymnasium this past weekend dropping the contest by a final of 81-50 to move their record to 0-13 on the year. Even though the Wolves came up short, Wolves guard Jamila Ra-Hashim had everybody on the edge of their seat with a historic 32 point, 8 made 3 pointers, performance.

The Panthers came flying out of the gates taking a commanding 43-14 lead into halftime, holding the wolves to single digit points in both the first and second quarters. The second half was all Ra-Hashim for the Wolves as she managed to sink 7 of her 8 made threes on the game in the second half, one from nearly 30 feet as the shot clock expired. Jamila has hit the 32 point mark twice now this season, opening night Vs Trinity Baptist, and the total is her career high. The 8 made three pointers on the night is not only a career high for Jamila Ra-Hashim, but is the Wolves record dating back nearly a decade to the 2014 season. After the record setting performance, the Senior guard is now averaging just under 19 points per game and sits firmly in second place in scoring in the CCS.

Joining Ra-Hashim in the scorebook was Kira Williams who finished with 8 points, and Gabby Barnwell and Angel Lockett who finished with 5 points apiece. Isabella Beach made her presence known in the paint pulling down a team leading 9 rebounds, while Barnwell added 7 boards to her statline. The Wolves will be back in action defending their home floor once again as the Huntingdon Hawks come to town Wednesday January 25th at 6:00pm. That game will be available to be streamed live on our newly created Youtube channel at the link below, or can be easily reached by clicking the watch tab on the main homepage.
