Wolves Can't Catch Tornadoes

Macon, GA- The Wolves welcomed the Tornadoes of Talladega College to Porter Gymnasium to wrap up the 2023 calendar year, dropping the non conference matchup by a final of 69-48. Three Wolves finished in double figures with Mia Walker leading the way with 20 points. Otashae Burrage finished with 14 points and 6 rebounds, while Destiny Grider stuffed the stat sheet with 12 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, and 6 steals. 

 

The Wolves led early as a strong first quarter by Walker and Burrage who each finished with 7 points found them leading the Tornadoes 16-12 at the end of the first 10 minutes of play. The Tornadoes adjusted in the 2nd quarter, turning up the pressure on the defensive end to hold the Wolves to just 2-15 from the field and forcing 7 turnovers to take a 28-23 lead into the half. 

 

The Wolves were able to get the Tornadoes into foul trouble early in the 3rd quarter and made 5-7 from free throws to keep the contest close, but the Tornadoes pulled away with the victory out scoring Wesleyan 24-11 in the final 10 minutes to take the 69-48 victory. 

 

The Wolves are back in CCS play to kick off 2024 as they travel to Maryville College to take on the Scotts January 2nd. Tipoff is scheduled for 5PM EST.
