Wolves Soccer Continues Winning Ways

Marion, AL - The Wesleyan College soccer team has matched its best start in school history after improving to 4-1 on Friday night with a 3-0 win over Judson College. Going into tonight's match, freshman Nadia Al-Shahabi led the nation in assists with seven, and she added two more to her unprecedented total, pushing her average to 1.8 assists per match.

Notables:

  • Senior Katie Tanner continues to be a force on the offensive front for the Wolves, netting yet another goal and pushing her season total to a team-high eight goals scored.
  • Freshmen Fetlework Blitch and Sophia Borovsky recorded the other two goals for the Wolves on Friday night, upping their season totals to five and four goals scored, respectively.
  • Wesleyan has recorded 14 assists on 23 goals scored thus far this season. Freshman Nadia Al-Shahabi is responsible for nine of those assists, adding two more to her stat line this evening, while freshman Madison Thornton also recorded an assist, marking the first of her collegiate career.
