Blitch Named USA South Soccer Rookie of the Week

Macon, GA - Wesleyan College freshman Fetlework Blitch was named USA South Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week following an impressive 1-0-1 weekend for the Wolves.

The Wesley Chapel, Florida, native recorded the Wolves only goal on a penalty kick in a 1-1 double overtime tie with USA South West Division leader Huntingdon College on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday, Blitch found the back of the net in the 15th minute of the match to start the Wolves scoring barage in a 4-1 win over USA South newcomer Berea College.

Blitch has recorded seven goals in nine matches thus far this season, ranking her ninth in the USA South in goals scored. She has also dished out two assists and has a team high .368 shooting percentage.

"I am incredibly proud of Fetty," remarked Wesleyan head coach Ian Doherty. "She works incredibly hard in every game and every training session, and she thoroughly deserves this. She has a exciting future ahead of her!"
