Birmingham, AL - Birmingham Southern jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, defeating the Wesleyan College soccer team 6-0 on Tuesday evening.

Notables:

  • The Panthers scored within the first minute of the game and scored four goals in the first half. 
  • Due to injuries, Wesleyan was forced to have eight athletes play the entire 90 minutes of the match.

"We started very slow and we were punished for it," remarked Wesleyan head coach Ian Doherty. "We showed heart in the second half, but once again we struggled with injuries tonight. Hopefully we are healthy enough to bounce back this weekend."
