Wolves Soccer Comes to End with Tourney Loss

Lookout Mountain, GA - The #6 seeded Wesleyan College soccer team couldn't pull off the upset of third ranked Covenant College in their first ever appearance in the USA South Conference Tournament. The Wolves fell 2-0 to the Scots on Wednesday afternoon.

Notables:

  • Seniors Jessica Austell, Kylie Lovett, Centara Nulf, and Katie Tanner played their last match as Wesleyan Wolves.
  • This year's 7-9-1 finish was the best since the 2013 squad went 9-9.
  • Playing their fourth match in five days, Wesleyan fought hard against the Scots but ultimately ran out of steam. Covenant dressed an army and saw 22 athletes record playing time, while Wesleyan was only able to play 13 in today's match.

Quotable:

First year head coach Ian Doherty remarked, "We had a great season and I'm so incredibly proud of this team. We believed in ourselves and exceeded many people's expectations. This program has a great future ahead of it."
