Freshman Blitch Named Second Team All Conference

Macon, GA - Freshman forward Fetlework Blitch was named to the USA South Women's Soccer All Conference SeconUSA South d Team (West Division) on Thursday afternoon as announced by the conference office.

As a newcomer, Blitch led the Wolves in scoring with 10 goals in 17 matches, ranking her ninth in the conference. She came out of the gates on fire, scoring four goals in Wesleyan's first three matches. She would go on to score goals in conference matches against Huntingdon, LaGrange, Berea, and Agnes Scott. Furthermore, the Wolves were 6-2-1 in matches when Blitch scored a goal this season.

"This is a wonderful achievement and Fetty absolutely deserves it," stated Wesleyan head soccer coach Ian Doherty. "She is a wonderful player and an even better person. She has a great future ahead of her and I'm excited to see her continue to develop."

In addition to Blitch's honor, senior Jessica Austell was named to the USA South All-Sportsmanship team for her dedication to fair play and sportmanship this season.

"Jess has been a great leader and wonderful role model for our team this year," added Doherty, " She has an incredible work ethic and always puts others before herself. She has been a great player and captain for Wesleyan, and we will certainly miss her leadership next year."
