The Wesleyan Wolves soccer program competed with 2017 NCCAA Division II National Champions Bob Jones University, ultimately lossing by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. The match was back and forth, but an early three goals in the first 50 minutes secured the win for the Bruins.

Bob Jones slotted in 3 goals early on in the match in the 13th minute (Ali Sigmon), 47th minute (Abby Davis), & 50th minute (Abby Davis). Senior Kourtney Mydlowski broke the scoreless drought for the Wolves in the 69th minute, blasting the ball to back netting off an assist from Nadia Al-Shihabi. The Wolves continued to put pressure on the Bruins with Fetlework Blitch & Nadia Al-Shihabi both leading Wesleyan in shots with 3 each. However, the damage earlier in the match ultimately ended the Wolves hopes of a comeback.

After the match, Head Coach Don Tees commented "We progressed. Not the result we wanted, but we progressed from last game positively. We had chances against a quality side and just have to finish them more. After last week in North Carolina, we told ourselves that each game needs to promote us positively forward and we can't have mental reservations within games; all-in, move forward. This is how we get better and ready for conference."

Tees added " Now that we have progressed further, we have two great opportunities to get results vs Faulkner University and Mississippi University for Women in the next 7 days. If we progress forward once more, we need to take the opportunity because we need to get prepared for our first conference match at Huntingdon College next Saturday."

The Wolves are back on the road for their 5th match away as they face NAIA opponent Faulkner University on September 15th. The match is set for 7:30pm Central Time.
