The Wesleyan Wolves soccer program took NAIA opponent Faulkner University to double OT in a 1-1 tie Saturday Night.

The Faulkner Eagles scored early in the match, seeing Emmy Copeland (Faulkner) find the back of the net off a short corner in the 7th minute of the match. From there until the 79th minute, it was a head-to-head battle with both the Eagles and Wolves getting opportunities. In the 80th minute, Fetlework Blitch received a short ball from the touchline up to the six from Nadia Al-Shihabi in Faulkner's penalty area. Blitch found the ball out of the scrum and blasted the shot away for Blitch's first of the year.

Junior Madison Thornton led the Wolves with 4 shots in the match. Head Coach Don Tees and Sophomore Midfielder Nadia Al-Shihabi received yellow card cautions during the match.

After the tie, Head Coach Don Tees continued to express his happiness over the past 7 days. "I want student-athletes that want to be part of something special. We are selfless & dedicated while competing with heart and we'll play with grace, yet be aggressive. This is how results will come. I reminded them of this Saturday and they responded well. This is now the third time this week we have progressed. On Wednesday vs Mississippi University for Women, we need to find away to continue moving forward as we have our first conference match up at Huntingdon on Saturday."

The Wolves host their first ever match on the newly renovated Panoz Field on September 19th vs visiting MUW. The match is set for 2:00pm Central Time. The Wesleyan Wolves will be representing United Soccer Coaches Inclusion and Diversity Week, sporting gifted shoe laces from the organization.
