Knights Best Wolves in Midweek Match

The Wesleyan Wolves lost a tough match tonight at Panoz Field 5-1 to Middle Georgia State University. The Wolves came into the match very confident after their home opener win this weekend. The Knights, lead by a hat trick from Miagh Downey, had a draw dropping thrity-eight shots with twenty-four of them being on goal. Wolves Senior Carlee Dykes had a stellar game in the goal with 17 saves and several blocks. The Wolves only goal was delivered by Fetlework Blitch and assisted by Q Brandon in the seventy-eighth minute of the game.

"Middle Georgia was a tough opponent today. It was a positive test for us as we press into Conference play next week. Our back line was tested in ways that will prepare us for our tough conference. It took MGA the better part of 75 minutes to truly break through our defense. I am proud of the organization and heart the girls played with tonight. Senior Carlee Dykes played one of strongest games of her career. Senior Katie Ann Fitts stepped in and made a huge impact with the battle that the back line had to deal with tonight. Freshman Amber McNeal is truly coming into her roll as a center back. She made some major plays tonight protecting the goal. We are looking forward to our double header this weekend," Head Coach Seth Semones said after the game.

The Wolves play on the road this weekend against Guilford College on Saturday and at Berry College on Sunday.
