Lions Tame the Wolves To Open USA South Play

The Wesleyan Wolves opened Conference play today at defending USA South Tournament Champion, Piedmont College. The Piedmont Lions were ready for the Wolves today and came out on the attack quickly scoring their first goal in the seventh minute. Overall the Lions would finish the game with 20 shots on goal with senior goalie Carlee Dykes saving 15 of those shots. Agan today the back line played a very tough match defending the goal throughout the entire game. The back line helped defend a total of 42 shots on the day.

Head Coach Seth Semones had this to say after the game; "Piedmont proved they belong at the top of the table with today's performance. Unfortunately we did not rival that performance with the desire to dethrone the giants. The good news is that we have a long conference season ahead of us that we will battle through and prepare for. Our next conference match is fourteen days away and we will be ready."

The Wolves' continue their season on the road Sunday, at Tennessee Wesleyan.
