Soccer Can't Find Rhythm at Mercer

The Wolves traveled down the road today to face in town opponent, Mercer University. Mercer, going into the game with a record of 1-4-1, were looking to get themselves into a winning streak as they enter the heart of their schedule. Wesleyan College, coming into the game with a record of just 0-1, were hoping to build off of their early week match against Middle Georgia State and take those lessons to the Bears. The Bears would find the better end of the day ultimately winning 13-0.

The Bears came out of the gates hot and spent much of the time on the offensive side of the ball. During the first period, the Bears had 26 shots on goal. The Wolves, who could only put together two shots and only one on goal the entire match, spent the majority of the evening trying to defend the strong offense of the Bears.

While the first two games of the Wolves schedule have deemed to be tough ones, the Wolves now continue into conference play. These first two very tough opponents have given the Wolves tests of strength and skill that have prepared them to compete strongly in conference play.

The Wolves are in action again on Sunday, February 14, at 11:00AM at Panoz Field. Fans who are tied to the Wesleyan community (students, faculty, and staff) are welcome to attend.
