Soccer falls to Piedmont to open CCS play

Macon, GA-  The Wolves soccer team traveled to Piedmont University in Demorest, GA to open CCS play against the Lions, dropping the matchup by a final of 8-1 in regulation. 

 

Piedmont took a quick lead with 4 unanswered goals in the first 15 minutes of play, They would add another goal in the 25th minute to make the score 5 nothing. Fernanda Perez managed to find an opening with under 3 minutes to go in the half but the shot was saved by the Piedmont Keeper keeping the score at 5-0 at the end of the first period. 

 

The Wolves were able to get on the board in the 60th minute of play when Piper Tadlock found a streaking Natalia Williams who was able to outrun the defense and beat the keeper with a beautiful shot with her left foot scoring for the Wolves. Unfortunately that was all the Wolves offense was able to muster in the match up with Piedmont. The Lions would answer the Wolves goal in the 70th minute of play, and tack on two more in the 80th minute to win the match 8-1. 

 

The Wolves will be back on their home field this Saturday September 23rd at 7pm as they welcome the Screaming Eagles of Toccoa Falls.
