Wolves Season Ends with 2-1 Defeat in Decatur

Macon, GA- The Wolves 2023 Soccer season came to an end with a 2-1 loss to the Scotties of Agnes Scott yesterday afternoon in Decatur, GA. Freshman midfielder Piper Tadlock scored the lone goal for the Wolves, her second goal of the season, in the 68th minute of play. 

 

The Wolves and Scotties were evenly matched in the first half going into the break knotted at 0-0. Goalkeeper Angel Lockett put together another strong showing, saving 8 shots in the first half to keep the Wolves in the game. Lockett would finish the match with 14 saves. 4 minutes into the second half Agnes Scott was able to get a long shot inside the far post to get on the board and take a 1-0 lead. The Scotties would score again in the 64th minute to make the score 2-0. Tadlock was able to get behind the Scotties defense and beat the keeper in the 68th minute to get the Wolves closer, but they ran out of time as the score would remain 2-1 when the final buzzer went off. This concludes the Wolves season. The team will be working hard in the off season under the tutelage of coach Seth Berkebile to come out ready to go in 2024.
