Volleyball Gets First Win of the Season

The Wolves' volleyball program has had a go of it this season with having to deal with COVID-19, new protocols, a shortened season, and a seaon pushed to the spring; all while being a first year program under new Head Coach Malae Fiaseu. Each game the Wolves have shown improvement and tonight, the Wolves would earn their first win over Agnes Scott with a score of 3-2.

The match was a hard fought match by each team. The first two sets were decided by a two or three point difference. Each team split those sets going into the third. Agnes Scott would come out of the huddle firing on all cylinders winning the third set with a score of 25-17. Wesleyan answered with a strong rally in the fourth set to take it 25-20. Neither team had one a match entering into tonight's meeting and neither team had won a set in prior games. Knowing this, the fifth set was shaping up to be a true testament of either program's will to win. With a score of 4-3 (Wesleyan), Agnes Scott would suffer an injury leading to a forfeit of the set ultimately providing the Wolves their first win of the season.

The Wolves were lead tonight by Sharon Inno-Dike with eleven kills on the night mustering 13.5 points on the evening.  Jermaya Love lead with 25 assists with and Brittany Davis had 4 aces in the match. Camille Duncan and Brittany Davis lead defensively with 9 digs each.

Volleyball will be back in action on April 10th to end the season against Brevard.
