Volleyball Ends Come Back Season with Losses to Brevard

The Wesleyan volleyball program ended it's come-back season this weekend with two matches against Brevard College. The first match started out to be a tight match between the two teams with the Wesleyan losing the first set 25-17. Brevard would answer in the second set winning 25-7. The Wolves never backed down and sent the third set into extended play. Overcoming a deficit, at one time, of 20-14 during the set; the Wolves battled back to forcing Brevard to score 29 points to take the match.

The Wolves took their energy into the second match of the day. Being lead by Sharon Inno-Dike with her 13.5 points on the match and Zoe Redmond's .300 kill percentage while playing every set; the Wolves ended their season losing the match 3-1 but with some very high notes to grow with. Freshman Jermaya Love ended the final weekend of the season ranked in the top 20 for assists (16th with 168); and assists per set (18th with 4.31) in the USA South. She was also ranked in the top 50 for service aces in the Conference.

"My first season as a head Coach has been one for the books, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. I've had the privilege of coaching these young women and getting to know them. It makes my heart so full to see how they've grown in their skill, how they've never backed down from a challenge, how they've matured, and become so discliplined on and off the court.
This season went a little different than I intended. We trained tirelessly, the skill was there, bonded a lot.. and honestly I thought it'd all come together when we competed. It wasn't that simple though and I quickly learned the principle of trusting the process," Coach Fiaseu said of her first season as head coach.
