Wesleyan College announced its 2012 cross country schedule which features six meets that will all be run in the state of Georgia.
Under the direction of first year head coach Krista Wieters, the Pioneers will open the season on Sept. 8 at the Remembrance Run hosted by
Georgia Southwestern in Americus, GA. The following weekend, Wesleyan plans to participate in the Mercer RunFit Invitational at the Georgia Children's Industrial Home in Macon. The Pioneers will also compete in meets hosted by Truett-McConnell College and Berry College.
The final two meets on the 2012 schedule are the Great South Athletic Conference pre-championship and championship meets that will both be hosted by Spelman College and held in Atlanta, GA.
The Pioneers are looking to improve upon last season's fourth place finish in the GSAC championship behind returning sophomore Christina Mayfield, who was named to the last season's GSAC All-Freshman team.
