HISTORIC HOME OPENER: WESLEYAN BEACH VOLLEYBALL HOSTS FIRST-EVER HOME MATCH

MACON, Ga. – April 1, 2025 — A landmark day for Wesleyan Athletics unfolded Tuesday afternoon as the Wolves made history with their first-ever home beach volleyball match, hosting Middle Georgia State University in a spirited showdown that drew an enthusiastic crowd and celebrated a new era for the program.

Despite falling 6-0 to a seasoned Middle Georgia State squad, the significance of the day far surpassed the scoreboard. From the players to the coaching staff, and all the way through the Athletics Department, it was a collective victory as Wesleyan took the sand at home for the very first time.

The energy was electric as fans packed the sidelines, creating an unforgettable atmosphere filled with cheers, school pride, and strong community support. The sunshine matched the spirit of the occasion, with warm spring weather setting the stage for a fierce afternoon of competition under Georgia's blue skies.

Wesleyan's Flor Delgado and Alana Woods delivered a highlight of the day, claiming a set against Middle Georgia State in a competitive pairing that showcased resilience, teamwork, and grit. The duo's performance lit a spark in the crowd and demonstrated the progress and potential of Wesleyan's growing beach volleyball program.

Wesleyan now looks ahead to its final home beach volleyball match of the season on Wednesday, April 10 at 4:00 PM. Fans are encouraged to come out once again and pack the sand as the Wolves continue making history on home court.
