Wolves not able to capitalize on early lead

After falling behind 2-0 against Piedmont on Wednesday, Wesleyan battled back to take a 5-3 lead. With 5:27 left in the opening period Piedmont surged ahead of the Wolves and wouldn't relinquish the lead for the remainder of the contest.

Coach Kyle Herring spoke after the game saying, "It was nice to see Paloma (Rios) make a couple shots early. She works hard out there and I'm glad she was rewarded with a couple of buckets. Jill (Crosby) scored her first collegiate points last night as well."

Marilynn Nesmith led Wesleyan with 7 points and 7 rebounds. Overall, the ball movement for the Wolves continues to improve, but their overall lack of depth worked against them once again. Coach Herring's crew will look to rebond this Saturday when they host Maryville at Central Georgia Technical College's Titans Arena. The game will tip off at 2:00 PM.

Note: the game has been moved to 1780 Anthony Road, Macon, GA, 31204.
