Wolves Drop Season Opener in Knoxville

Wolves Drop Season Opener in Knoxville

The Wolves opened their season tonight at Johnson University in Knoxville, TN., and the team did not disappoint. The Wolves kept the Royals of Johnson in check the entire night. The game was a back and forth matchup until the last three minutes or so of regulation. The Wolves lead the game many times during the match up. The box score shows just how close the match up was in the end with both teams being within a percentage point or two of each other in almost every statistic.

The Wolves, lead by Jamila Ra-Hashim with 23 points on the game, had three players with double digit numbers for points scored. The Wolves, as a team, shot 73.3% from the free-throw line for the evening. During the offseason, Head Coach Kyle Herring was often quoted as saying this team will "shoot the ball a lot". Tonight was proof of that with thirty-four 3 point shots attempted on the evening. The defense did very well also with 26 defensive rebounds on the game along with 15 steals.

The Wolves will be back in action tomorrow at 2:00PM when they take on Truett-McConnell in Cleveland, GA.
