Berry Outscores Wolves in Monday Match Up

The Wolves come away with a loss tonight at Berry College after being off for seven days. The Vikings of Berry College came out strong in the first quater leading 30-9 at the start of the second. A lead the Wolves could not overcome. Freshman Nala Lawrence finished the game with 18 points followed by Freshmen Nia Sellers and Kelsey Houpt with 8 points each. The Wolves would finish the game only shooting 26% from the field and 25% from three point range. Defensively, the Wolves came away with 24 defensive rebounds on the night lead by Kelsey Houpt and Ta'Liyah Slocumb with 5 each.

Head Coach Kyle Herring knows his team is more talented that tonight's outcome would show. "This was a great game for us to learn. Berry played at a tempo our young kids had not seen before. We didn't quit tonight and we easily could have. The group that played a majority of the fourth quarter played with good chemistry. They did not turn the ball over and they took good shots. Hopefully we can learn from this and continue to build off of what we are learning," Herring said of the game tonight.

The Wolves will be on the road, yet again, as they continue their road game heavy season Wednesday evening at Emmanuel College. That game is scheduled for a 6:00PM tip off.
