Wesleyan Downs Randolph to Kickoff Regular Season

The Wesleyan Wolves began their regular season today at Panoz Field with a win against Randolph College. The Wolves went into halftime with the lead but quickly lost that advantage in the 47th minute. The game remained tied until the game winning goal was scored by Nadia Al-Shahabi in the 80th minute. The Wesleyan defense played with great intensity during the second half of the game as the Wildcats of Randolph had 13 shots with five of those being on goal. Senior goalie, Carlee Dykes held her own in the goal with 6 saves on the day.

Coach Seth Semones was very excited to get this first win out of the way to help set the tone for the remainder of the season. "Today was a great benchmark for the season. We are starting to solve in game problems and I couldn't be more proud. We still have a large season ahead of us and plenty of room to grow, but the ladies put in the work and should be excited about the positive results today," said Semones of the win.

The Wolves continue their season on Wednesday against NAIA opponent Middle Georgia State University at Panoz Field. That game will be played at 7:00PM.
