The Wesleyan Wolves continued conference play today with a weekend match against Brevard College in Brevard, NC. Coming off a stellar win against LaGrange earlier in the week, Wolves' Head Coach Seth Semones was looking forward to picking up conference in number two today. The defense worked an incredible first half only allowing eight shots during the first period. One of those found the goal at the twenty-ninth (29th) minute by Brevard's Alyssa Heatherington. Wesleyan's Alyssa Key, answered that very quickly with an unassisted goal of her own just over a minute later leaving the game tied at the half. Brevard would strick very quickly in the second half with a goal from Sallie Riggan in the fourty-fifth (45th) minute taking the lead 2-1.

Coach Seth Semones had this to say about the game today; "Today was a hearbreaker. As we are starting to close out the season, we are really starting to to see players come into their roles. Freshman Alyssa Key is a household name as she threatens the conference. Alyssa is instrumental as she helps build nearly every attack for the Wolves. Sophomore Hannah Motes has had a string of great games. Helping rise to the legacy being left by Senior Q Brandon, Hannah along with Freshman Amber McNeal are rising to be some of the best defenders in the conference. I hate the way the game ended today. We have had three conference matches slip away now by one goal. I am proud of how they battled, stayed organized, and gave Brevard a run for their money. If they step in like they did today, our next two games should fall in the way of Wesleyan."

The Wolves defense would help ensure that score by holding off a total of nineteen (19) total shots from the Tornados in the second half showing yet again just how strong the back line of the Wolves' defense is. Wolves' goalie Carlee Dykes would end the day with fourteen (14) saves on the day.

The Wolves continue their season Saturday at home against Huntingdon. Game time is at 3:00PM.
