Eagles Early Lead Sinks Wolves

Macon, GA- The Wolves hosted the Eagles from Trinity Baptist on Saturday September 16th dropping the match 4-2. The Eagles were able to jump out to an early 3-0 lead in the first 30 mins of play that ended up being the downfall of the Wolves this afternoon. In the 42nd minute of the first half Natalia Williams was able to get behind the Eagles defense and was found on a beautiful pass by Freshman Piper Tadlock to put the ball into the back of the net for the Wolves first goal of the night making the score 3-1 at halftime. The Eagles managed to extend the lead to 4-1 in the 5th minute of the second half on a rebound goal after one of the 11 Angel Lockett saves on the night. The Eagles defense was able to keep the Wolves attack at bay for most of the afternoon, but Junior transfer Ani Springer managed to get a ball past the keeper on a free kick for her 2nd goal of the season with just over a minute to play in the match to make the score 4-2 where it would stay for the evening. The loss drops the Wolves record to 1-5 on the season. Wesleyan Soccer will be back on the field this coming Tuesday September 19th as they face off with the Piedmont Lions at Piedmont in their first CCS match up of the season.
